Names of Posts:

1. Dy. Manager (Tech) – 100 vacancies
2. Dy. Manger (Marketing) – 31 vacancies
3. Dy. Manager (P&A) – 05 vacancies
4. Manager (P&A) – 02vacancies

Age Limit: Candidates’ age must be between 21 years and 28 years. Cutoff date for determining age limit would be 25-06-2012. (Age relaxations will be extended as per Govt. rules).

Educational Qualification: Candidates must possess BE/B.Tech./B.Sc for the posts 1 and 2 and must possess MBA for posts 3 and 4 in concerned discipline from recognised University.

Application Fee Details: Applicants need to pay application fee of Rs. 500/- in form of Challan downloaded from website after submission of Part I of application at any State Bank of India branch. SC/ST candidates need not pay application fee.

Selection Process: Eligible candidates will be selected on the basis of performance in Written Test and Interview.

How to Apply: Candidates need to apply through Online mode and submit the same including two parts of Online Application on or before 25-06-2012. After submission candidates need to take print out of e-mail of confirmation, attach photograph and retain it for further use.

Instructions for Online Application:
1. Log on to www.railtelindia.com and select the ‘Careers’ link to open the link related to the current recruitment.
2. Fill in all the details in Part I of Application Form and ‘Submit’.
3. This would generate and Online Payment Challan with the use of which candidates must make payment at any SBI branch.
4. After making payment the Bank must revisit the website and enter the system generated Registration Number and Password.
5. Fill in all the details in the Part II of Application Form including Fee Payment Details and upload photograph at the place provided.
6. Check for errors and Submit the application form.
7. The system would automatically send a confirmation email to the registered email id of candidate.
8. Candidate must take print of the mail, attach photograph and retain it for submission at the time of Interview.

 Pay Scale 

Rs. 15600-39100PB-3 Rs. 7600/- Grade pay Total emoluments excluding TA HRA at the time of initial appointment will be Rs.38,280/-p.m. approximately 

 Age

Not exceeding 50 years as on normal closing date. Not exceeding 55 years for Scheduled castes and Scheduled Tribes candidates and not exceeding 53 years for Other Backward Classes candidates in respect of vacancies reserved for them as on normal closing date. Relaxable for regularly appointed Central /UT Govt. servants up to five years as per the instructions issued by the Govt. of India from time to time.  Essential Qualificaiton (s)

Certificate of competency of Marine Engineer Officer Class-I Steam or Motor or Combined Steam and Motor as specified in Section 78 of the Merchant Shipping Act, 1958 44 of 1958 or equivalent as specified in Section 86 of the said Act and five years’ service at sea of which one year service as Chief Engineer or Second Engineer

NOTE I The qualifications regarding experience is/are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission in case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes in respect posts reserved for them, if at any stage of selection, the Union Public Service Commission is of the opinion that sufficient number of candidates from these communities possessing the requisite experience are not likely to be available to fill up the post reserved for them. 

Desirable Qualificaiton (s)

One year experience in survey and inspection of merchant ship and one year experience in survey, inspection and examination of merchant ship

Duty(ies)

Work in connection with Survey and Inspection of Machinery boiler and other mechanized equipments testing of materials used in ships, construction, repairs and Inspection, Examination of Engineers Engine Driver, performance of other statutory duties under M. S. Act, 1958 and Indian Steam Vessels Act.1917.
